Solving challenges

It may not seem like it, but drawing is all about solving challenges.

  • How do I draw a nose?

  • How do I draw eyes

  • How do I draw a mouth?

  • How do these incorporate into a head?

  • How do I draw an angry expression? — a happy one? — a mixed emotion like resignation?!

  • How do I draw an interior background? — an exterior background? — a fantasy background?

  • And so on, and so on, and so on...

Each illustration is a culmination of solving a hundred little challenges. In the end, we look at the results to see if some of those challenges were addressed successfully. And, of course, we see that some of those drawing solutions were unsuccessful.
